Franck is the founder and owner of Epicure Wines. His dedication to the wine world led him to start his own company in order to share his passion for great wines around the world. Nowadays, his wines are present over 25 countries worldwide.
Franck was UK Best sommelier in 1996. He obtained the WSET Diploma in 1998 and Master Sommelier Advanced Diploma in 1999. During that time, he worked close to Gerard Basset (MS, MW, OBE and World Best Sommelier 2010).
Everything began in 2004 when, with an old friend also sommelier, we decided to acquire our own vineyard in Priorat and transform our dream into reality. There, I produced my first wine, Huellas, and I quickly found out that creating fine wines requires skill, patience, hard work and passion. But I was delighted with it.
Visiting wine regions across Spain, I found myself seeking out vineyards with a great potential, most of them century-old vineyards abandoned because of their low yields and located in marginal climates where the fruit has a natural complexity and quality is astonishing. And there, I also met farmers producing high quality wines and with an amazing sense of nature.
My passion grew and I was ready for a new challenge: I started to create new wines from lesser known regions like Ribeira Sacra, Terra Alta, and Valdeorras. Wines with a real sense of place.
On the other hand, in my travels through the national geography of Spain and different wine regions, I had the opportunity to meet great winemakers from small wineries with a great heritage and wines of great character to which, thanks to a good relationship achieved in years, I help to export their products in certain international markets. These wineries are Rudeles, Landaluce and Mas Bertran.
Epicure Wines is focusing on terroir, nurturing the best partnerships with high quality vine growers in Spain. We are convinced that to produce high quality wines, the work starts in the vineyard, taking great care of it and continues at the winery, where intervention is always minimal.
We develop a modern and elegant wine range, focused on drinkability, pleasure and sharing.
Our Values: Reliability, honesty, integrity, experience, respect and maximum care
In order to produce the best wines, Franck had to be surrounded by the best professionals. Dominique Roujou de Boubée is our collaborator on the Priorat wines and Terra Alta but also has a common wine project with Franck in Galicia: Les 3 Amis.
Dominique is PHD in Enology from Bordeaux University, with Denis Dubourdieu as a mentor. Previously he worked with Jean Claude Berrouet, winemaker at Petrus and with Álvaro Palacios in Priorat.

Rudeles is a family business which was founded to build upon the passion and labour of the owners’ fathers and grandfathers and develop the wine culture which had almost disappeared in this particular area. Rudeles has four owners and all of them have strong ties to Peñalba.
The name Rudeles comes from the first letters of the names of the four owners: Ruperez, del Hoyo and Espinel.
From the beginning, they have tried to make the most of their biggest asset, 90-year old vineyards, and to respect the terroir by producing interesting award winning wines.

Landaluce symbolises the strong union between know-how and a passion for the vine, passed down over several generations.
The secret lies in the raw material: They have 25 hectares, of which the bodega owns 15 and works the others on lease.
Old gobelet-trained vines formed by three irregular arms rising to one metre from the ground. If an arm breaks of falls off due to age, it is replaced by a new shoot from the base. This allows the individual clusters of grapes to air, without touching each other.
They use old vineyards because they consider that the balance of production achieved cannot be matched, because the depth of their roots and the volume of soil covered reduces the impact of drought or excessive rainfall and because they bring greater complexity to the grapes.
Wine in our Portfolio:
- Fincas De Landaluce
- Elle de Landaluce
- Capricho de Landalue
An undeniable imprint from the Penedés is quality wines and sparkling wine with Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Parellada and Sumoll being the main protagonists. A constant watch over the process of elaboration. The coexistence of state of the art technologies with traditional methods.
Nature takes over. Intervene as little as possible to obtain the best results. The vineyard expresses itself with freedom: the vintage, always different, sets the pace.
